#1 The local cafe notifies the UMC of the spent coffee grounds available for collection.
#2 Spent coffee grounds are collected by UMC and delivered to our Urban Mushroom Farm.
The Urban Mushroom Company
#3 The spent coffee grounds are mixed into a substrate optimal for growing consistent high quality oyster mushrooms at UMC.
#4 The oyster mushrooms crop is harvested and the spent substrate is sent for composting.
#5 UMC receives orders from local restaurants and will arrange the delivery of the crop.
The Restaurant, Cafe and You
#6 The restaurant can cook the delicious oyster mushrooms.
#7 We eat the mushrooms at the restaurant.
#8 We drink our coffee at the cafe and there we have completed the cycle!
